Since my vibe was originally marked as an Ohio vibe it's got that stupid front license plate bracket. I'm going to remove it but was wondering what everyone thought about that? How would I make sure that the hole doesn't rust

Why would you want holes on your bumper at all?Wouldn't it be easier to find a plate of some sort to stick there? Perhaps a plate supporting a sports team or sometin?

hiya,You don't really have to worry about rust since the whole front bumper section is basically plastic. I know this because my Vibe was from a dealer in Indiana where they don't have a front plate. My local dealer had me put the bracket thing on myself. Though, not a difficult task, still one that I felt I shouldn't of had to of done. What you will have are 2 holes in your bumper that will probably look worse that then Plate bracket itself. Get some novelty plate to put on it if you don't have a front end cover that would cover the holes once the bracket is removed. I will look better.DaveP.S. YAY, this is my 100'th post!!!

The Vibe looks way cooler without a front plate bracket. Plug the holes and put a dab of touch-up paint on each and you'll never know they were there. Also there are some great aftermarket grilles available that will look mean with no ugly bracket there.

Somebody makes small Vibe logo things that replace the front license plate frame. Covers the holes, says Vibe. Supposedly gives a cleaner look to the front if you don't need a front plate. I didn't pay much attention since I have to have a front plate. Maybe it was on ebay.If you do take the front plate holder off, make sure to keep it, someday you may move or sell it to someone who will need it.

i was in the same boat as you...but sits illeagal in Wa, but i took it off anyways what i did to cover the holes was cheap and looks good. i went to a auto parts store and got $1.99 kit. it comes with 2 screws and chrome caps. the caps just go over the screw heads and looks pretty good i think on my shadow

Hey Meathead,do you have a picture of your "mod"I'm sorry you guys that have to have a license plate frame but I'd rather look at two small holes then some freakin' stupid looking half plate or have my name etched on a "vanity" plate. but thanks for the info....maybe I'll just use a small bead of caulk and then paint over it. thanksDesi

This may sound dumb, but what about some of those studs like in a dog collar?Kinda goth for me,but I see them quite a bit anymore.Just haven't seen them in a bumper cover yet
