I'm so impressed with myself that it's killing me not to be able to upload the pictures here. HURRY UP AND FIX IT PLEASE!!!! Great now I'm so mad I posted in the wrong section. Damn, Beer store for haveing Bud Pounders on sale for 11 bucks a case.

I'm curious: What kind of metalflake paint did you use? Exact brand if you can I really need to jazz up my interior trim, looking for ways to do that. Love the blue though, too bad it won't go with the rest of my car

That looks great! How cool would it be to color coordinate it to the exterior color? Got me thinkin'

Got me thinkin'That is totally what I want to do.. color match my interior with the exterior (salsa)...You should see TRDvibe's post (I can't find it at the moment) She didn't color match but the change in itself is amazing.

Plasticote metal flake and metal flake cear coat. Key is to apply 3 coats of paint 15 minutes apart. Use 400 grit wetsand paper to remove any imperfections. Then apply one more coat. after that coat dries (about 25-30 minutes) wet sand again with 600 grit paper. 2 more coats of blue and the 3 of clear and it was done. total coast 16 us bucks! First attempt at spray painting too I'm tickled blue with it. I wanted to do the collar arround the shifter too, but it's all one iece with the heater controls. I do plan to do the drivers side vent frame as well as both door plates.

I have blue stripes on the side of the vibe as well as painting the enginge cover blue, a blue strut brace and the next step is to try and paint the grilles with the same paint

Not to go off topic but, I want to paint my door plates red like TRd's, my wife scratched the hell out of the grey. The door plate's are the ones that hold the power window buttons, they chip really easily, do tyou need to sand it off then primer and then paint? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, so don't start with a primer or sand off the grey first? just put the base coat down and then put on like ton's of layers is that what you are saying?

forgot one thing...how do you get them off the door?

well, first off, if you have scratches in the panels, you will most likely need to seal the parts before you paint it. try out a test corner first and see if the paint reacts. it'll kinda bubble up or crackle. if it does, then you need to sand the part a little and spray some sealer on it. that'll most likely react too. once it dries, wet sand it lightly with really fine grit like 400-600. spray it again and repeat until it doesn't react anymore. then you can spray your paint layers then clear.to take the panels off, you'll need to slide something smooth and flat under the top portion of the door panel. it should pop out, but be careful so you don't break any of the little plastic fasteners. the bottom slides in at an angle, so be careful. on the drivers side, the controls screw in with 3 small screws. just take them out and you have your panel, no prob.

Door panels list at $383.84 per door.

That price has to be for the entire interior door panel. The silver trim piece should be much cheaper, unless it's not offered for sale separately.
