I purchased some 16" "X-Wheel"'s from Discount Tire and had them take the tires off of the stock steel wheels. Would have liked to put on 17's or 18's, but with an 11 month old boy, funds aren't as plentiful as they once were....

Other than the obvious, whats so bad about getting "generic" rims?

I to have young children and must watch the pennies. I just installed 16" Mille Miglia M2-II alloy wheels on the factory tires and they look great. As soon as I can take a picture, I will post it. i wanna go get the mille miglia evo5 rims but im not sure what size yet.I wanna get 18"s but where i live theyre probably gonna get exchanged for center blocks.

If you can afford it go for the 17 or 18's. I couldn't afford new rims and tires thats why I went with 16's. If you decide to make the change keep those old steel rims and hubcaps. Tire installer told me the steel wheels are about 100 bucks a piece and the hubcaps are around 75 bucks each. Amazing.Not sure where you live in NJ, but getting your wheels stolen is always a possiblity living in the tri-state area.

Wow, talk about reviving an old thread. Just wanted to see if you're still enjoying these wheels, Coho.I'm thinking about ordering a set to mount up some all-season tires for the snowy season. However, I wanted to make sure they're not going to be a mistake.

Doh! I hope that's not the case. Of course, if it's only for the winter maybe I can put up with it until I get the 17s back on in the summer. Hmmm...

Well Fuel, that's the problem. I like my stock wheels too, but I can't keep the Z-rated 17s on for the Montana winter. Therefore, I need a cheap all-season solution. Can't find a stock set of Vibe wheels so I'm looking to the aftermarket.Silver, thanks for the info. I've looked into them, but my job requires a lot of travel (mostly in company cars) so the Vibe will mostly used to shuttle me back and forth to work when I'm in town. The roads I will mainly travel stay fairly clear even in heavy snows. Therefore, I'm looking more at a sturdy all-season type tire instead of a full-on snow and ice tire. I've had winter tires on cars and they handle like... well, you know... when the roads are bare.
