Sorry to bring this up, but it is time to winterize the Vibe. I thought we could share all the little thing we do to winterize. I'm going to 'Krown' the Vibe next week, put in the winter mats, change the oil (synthetic for those cold mornings), put another coat of wax on the spotted paint, chech the wipers, top up the washer anti-freeze. Most other things should be fine on a newer car. Anything I'm forgetting or any other excellent ideas, no matter how small are appreciated. Thanks.

Some folks swtich to snow tires and load stuff to throw under tires (gravel, salt, etc), a shovel, blanket, etc. Winters are fairly mild here, so I don't usually put in snow emergency supplies unless there's a snow forecast.Good to check the tire tread, coolant level.I leave my roof rack cross rails on, but some folks take them off to make it easier to clear snow off the roof. What is "Krown"? (I can get away with asking since the search is disabled)

'Krown' is the one and only rust inhibitor that is worth even mentioning. It is not an undercoat or an oil spray. It is a chemical solution applied annually to the underbody and all inner panels of the vehicle. Yes, sometimes there is some drilling of holes required to reach some trouble spots and yes it does drip. If it doesn't drip, it's not worth doing. It is the only rust inhibitor recommended by the CAA, because it's the only one that works. When it comes to rust, we Canadians know what the hell we're talking about. Krown is similar to 'Rustcheck' spray, which can be purchased in small cans at Canadian Tire. Most Krown locations at oine time were Rustcheck stores. Rustcheck was an excellent product too, until Krown improved upon it and took over Rustcheck. I spray with Krown once a year and then touch up spray throughout the year with cans of Rustcheck from Can. Tire. I have an 8 year old Nissan King Cab 4x4 that I have done this with since it was new. These trucks are usually rust buckets. My Nissan has no hint of rust on it anywhere. As long as I keep using Krown/Rustcheck, it never will.
