is anyone else annoyed by the commercial with the jeep parked on the rock there is no way the front bumper would clear the rock show in the side view when they switch to the front view it has to be a diffrent rock

What you can't see is how much of an incline there is on the approach side of the rock. If the approach is long enough, it could realistically clear it.But then again, this IS advertising -- a business notorious for false or overly exaggerated claims.

I am annoyed by the commercial, but not because of any ground clearance/vehicle capabilities vooodoo. I think its a stupid commercial.Starts with a jeep in the middle of a big empty field with the left front tire up on a big rock, back tires on the ground, right front tire hanging in air. The jeeps backs off the rock, and then you see that there is another jeep in this big empty field, and the driver has been waiting. When the first one gets off the rock, the second jeep parks on the rock in the same way, as if that was the only parking space at the mall or something.

Wranglers are sweet as hell though so I think that comercial was appropriate(spelling). My friend had a '94 wrangler he tried to drive ontop of a 6 foot snow/ice pile. The center of the jeep got stuck on the peak of the hill. I was laughing my (removed) off when he told me.

I've had 2 friends with wranglers. one we took 4xin all the time until the engine blew out at 6K miles. he bot it new in 98. added a few things to it and yes, we could get up on a rock like that, but not with teh stock suspension or wheels. he added a 3" lift and larger BFG AT. but it was always in the shop with something wrong. had it not gotten totaled, it would have gotten replaced by the dealer due to the lemon law. my other buddy bot his 03 wrangler and the engine blew as he drove off the lot. that didn't give me much faith in wranglers. he's already traded it in for a 03 Golf GTI.

i don't like the wranglers, come on they are named after crappy pants! is it me, or has the shape stayed pretty much the same (boxy, ugly) ever since they came out?i guess i wouldn't understand, afterall, it is a jeep thing.

quote:Just wait til someone tries that with THEIR Wrangler...i.e. Hummer Genius.A stock wrangler would not make it up that rock. However, that Jeep commerical is not advertising a normal wrangler....... its advertising a Jeep Rubicon.I doubt they switched rocks. Cause you could plainly see the first Jeep drive right off the rock and firmly plant all 4 wheels on the ground.I wonder what tread lightly thought of the Jeeps driving around off the designated road?

Dang things last forever. As far as the Rubicon...yeah...I want one. Always liked the wranglers, and it's too bad Jeep has already started a "fall from grace". Look at the "Liberty"...just look at it. Thats no jeep, its sacrilage! Thats just another independent suspension SUV with a really weak engine. I want the Cherokee Sport back. Room for the family, and still Truly Off-Road capable. Say hello Diemler and goodby Jeep.

saw your info silver.....but as you know you dont have to sell me on jeeps capability. I could have done w/ 4 wheel drive tonight....a buddy and i went out for a drive and went to turn around.....so i pulled off the road into a field turn-around that i have used a few times before....however it has been raining all day and the field had turned to a marshy mud.....we didnt couldnt tell until we were already in it because it is downhill slightly so your headlights dont hit it until your there.....well it took me 20 minutes of rocking back and forth to get the vibe back on the gravel road......needless to say we reversed out instead of turning around.....the vibe is very muddy!!! damn i miss my jeep!
