Hey...can someone with a 2003 stock BASE engine, no CAI installed, take a couple pictures surrounding the stock airbox.Long story why I need them, but I need a closeup of a stock engine's airbox...

Ah, bill, 'tis not my mill....Not sure who's pics those are...appears Silver grabbed them from all over the site...Anyway, now that I have time, here's the dilio. I ended up reverting my engine to stock intake again...went to clean the CAI filter, and it took me an hour to get it off. Decided I wasn't going to take another hour to put it back in tomorrow morning (more likely than not will not have time), plus, come the dead of winter, I am NOT going to try and get that thing off and on to clean it again, so I decided, hey, I'll put the stock airbox back in, deal with the power loss until spring, and then decide what to do about it. However, I suspect I most likely will sell the current intake and purchase a new VIBE COMPATIBLE intake instead.Thanks for the pics Rob, appreciated.Mainly, I was making sure I remembered to put everything back. I noticed that the little "hook" that grabs the cruise control actuator cable varies in location. Sometimes it's on the front hole, sometimes it's on the rear. Oh well. I was concerned I was missing something. Though I do have screws left over. Oh well, if it runs, that's all that matters, eh?

With the new (compatible) Injen CAI, I'm sure it will still be a pain in the (removed) to get to. It would be nice to see some pics of the new intake installed.

Because the fog lights on the matrix sit farther into the center of the body than ours, the CAI I had, installed in a matrix, would have the filter fall on the outside of the driver side fog assembly.Because of the location of the Vibe fogs, the filter, in this case, fell directly on top of the assembly, making it, essentially, unable to be removed with removing the entire CAI, which is what I ended up just doing. More trouble than it's worth IMHO.The Vibe CAI corrects this, obviously, and redirects the filter to fall somewhere other than on top of the fog assembly (I don't know exactly where it ends up with the new design).

i have scheduled my gt to go in for service this week. my trd cai has caused the cel to come on and it runs a little strange. i'm putting it back to stock and then will drop it off tomorrow to the dealer. hopefully they'll get it taken care of while i'm on vacation next week. need the alignment done, cel light dealt with, and have them check the brakes and the clutch smell.... get that started in the service docs... oh yes. DON'T buy anything from KRERA racing, carflair, auto sport warehouse, etc!!!!

Thanks for the tips about Krera. Just read the posts about them bein' shady and all.I just had enough money saved up to buy a CAI and then doh!... the water pump on my boiler blew out. Now instead of more horsepower for my vibe I had to get a new pump to stay warm for the winter.Trdvibe -- where is the forum topic about how Krera screwed you over, I have searched for it, but have not found it.Peace

The box states 2002 Toyota Matrix XR - part number RD2065BLK.It does hit the fog lamp, but I just pushed the filter up on the tube about an inch farther and it was fine.EDIT: Check out this thread: here - looks like some members may have purchased the new model. We'll need their feedback.

top object! be very careful of Krera and carflair. Silver started a thread in the lounge about these guys back in April! big time crooks! notice also how they don't even show this phantom CAI for the vibe on their website. I smell a rate in Denmark!
