Lightning Audio Digital Cap

Anyone out there with stereos, try this one on...I have a Lightning Audio Strike Digital Monitor Cap, the 1 farad version with the digital monitor top... I recently rewired part of the system to add a 4 ga ground cable to the cap, and replaced the stock 8 ga stuff under the hood with Lightning Audio power cables, 8 ga to the block, and 4 ga to the chassis.For some reason, the turn-on for the monitor top is backfeeding! Yes...after I power off the car, the monitor top feeds +12v BACKWARDS.. It keeps my stereo on for an extra few seconds, as well as freaks out my amplifier.I disconnected the monitor top part until I can throw in a diode to keep that from happening... But has anyone seen this before?

Always une a diode with a capacitor. When you turn off your car, it cut the power on instrument but your cap remain at full charge. So you strange trouble is normal, your cap. is discharging itself and shoot power to you amp.

No nono... I understand that part. I'm talking about the monitor top.This cap has three binding posts. + for the cap, - for the cap, and + to turn on the little voltmeter. The + and - are connected to battery and chassis, respectively, and the + for the monitor top is connected to the turn-on lead for everything else. Basically, when the stereo turns on, it sends +12 down to the remote turnons for the amps, and also for the voltmeter. There shouldn't be any voltage coming from the turn-on circuit for the voltmeter... I know about the cap keeping voltage, every time I disconnect the battery, I have to discharge the cap cuz it continues to try to power the car..

Your wright. I misunderstood. There's something strange with your cap. voltmeter....I don't know how I could help you, as I did see you installation and i never had this king of trouble.. for sure I do not have cap.

I used to get weard trouble as well.You know, Mr. Murphy is never far away, especially with me.
