Do you think the Red Sox will finally break the curse and make it to, and win, the world series this year?

If the Red Sox and Cubs make it to the world series I will be happy. I have been a cubs fan all of my life and the only team that I would accept a loss from would be the Red Sox. I wish Harry was alive to see the Cubs at least this far through his Budweiser/whisky hazed eyes.

If you glance to the left, you will see who I really want to win it all, but if the Red Sox play the Cubs in the series, I wouldn't feel too bad, as it will be historic - good for baseball.

The marlins do not deserve to be there. A new franchise team that already won a series recently and there are two teams that helped build this league. BTW the sox fans and cubs fans are the best!!!We do not need pennants to fill the stands. In chicago they fill the streets in the post season.. I still wish I lived in chicago during this time of sports history. I would have had third base side seats.

I think they could make it, but not win. My room mate is from Chicago so all I hear about is the Cubs this, the Cubs that. I can't wait until the Red Wings start playing tonight so I can watch some hockey instead.

cubs the only reason i've been watching the playoffs is to root against the cubs. man i hate the cubs. st louis fans back up all of their pro teams quite well. all of the cards games are either sold out or darn near it. i don't want the yankees to win either. they have too much money to spend, it's not fair.

It is also a very sad state to see what the people of Chicago are doing to this guy. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY would have done anything different. Everybody was reaching for the ball, it just so happens that that guy was there.

if i was that guy, i would sue the news station that released his name, adress, etc. for emotional damaged and stress. this could end up being the best thing that ever happened to the guy. i wonder which talk show will be the first to get him...

i think the sox deserve it more. it's no fun when teams like hockey's redwings or baseball's yankees win. people just say "of course they won, they are the yankees" too many people like the yankees too. i hate it when people just root for the best team in the game, because they are the best. where's the integrity in that? (not saying that this is you)so, why do you like the yankers?

Well, we have our answer. This is NOT the year. 1918. Last time the Sox won the series.Would be eerie if 2018 was the next time...

quote:so, why do you like the yankers?drunken, i know your question was not pointed at me, but i feel the need to answer. I grew up in Northern NJ (about 30 minutes outside NY). My Dad was always a Yankee fan, and I have been an official Yankee fan from about 1976. I agree that there are an awful lot of "Yankee come lately fans". (It seems very fashionable to wear a Yankee hat in a multitude of colors - what's with that?). The Yankees were horrible during the 80's and early 90's - but I stuck with them. Is it wrong for me to enjoy their success now? The series with Boston was great for baseball - stirred up much interest. I also understand that people are tired of seeing the Yankees in the World Series - the feeling that they "buy" the success every year is understandable. I also agree that if Boston won, it would have made this World Series something special - and I would have been cheering them on. But you'll have to forgive me if I am happy that the Yankees are in the World Series - even if I'm the only one watching.

you live close to the yanks, thats different. i hate when people here in illinois root for the yanks just because it's the thing to do. my football team is the rams, back when they were unstoppable (and are becoming that way again), they were my team, back when they first came to st. louis and never won they were my team. i just hate the people who are riding the bandwagon.

I agree. There are plenty of those Johnny come lately fans everywhere. Living in the motor city everywhere I go there are UofM gear everywhere. When I wear my Notre Dame gear I always get harrassed or complimented. Gotta stick by your team. Living near Chicago growing up loving the Bears and during the Superbowl year I had no idea that everyone is a Bears fan. People are afraid to root for the underdog sometimes.
