I borrowed this image from one of AtWork's earlier posts Question is: My Vibe does not have the circled light in the tach. I assume it shows when the fog lights are on.Do I have a light out or is this a Canadian thing? (This pic is from a Canadian model)

According the owners manual, which only shows a US gauge cluster) there is no light there. Since it's dark, and there is no other green light on (and she's booking down the road) that must be the green "headlights are on full" indicator in the canadian gauges. close, but not exactly in the same place as in the US cluster.Xteife (PA)listed the absence of a foglight indicator in his wish list for future vibes at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... 80#16980So did canadavibegt (BC) in the same thread at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... 74#32974so I'm assuming that there's no fog indicator in the Canadian gauges.

The US dash has the light below the X1000 RPM and the symbol is different. It looks like this:

my mom had a cavi w/drl's and had a light that showed when they were on. this one looks like the symbol that the lights are on. mine is always on, except when i first turn the car on and it delays. i really hate that sensor. is there any harm in driving around w/my e-brake clicked once?

You can even see it better here. This is from the owners manual as well. The light only comes on when the sensor turns the lights on full, meaning your interior lights and foglights would come on.

quote:is there any harm in driving around w/my e-brake clicked once?Depends on how the e-brake cable is adjusted, you don't want to overheat the pads/wheels/drums by driving with the brake slightly on.

quote:That light NEVER GOES OFF. (It's not related to the fogs either, although they're always on)I can check the manual tonight (Where's Nova now when we need him..) for you and see what it is, but it's never shut off, always shows.Yours doe not turn off??? Mine does.It is the headligh full (not DRL) indicator. Nothing to do with fog light. It only to show you your light are ON.

quote:This I know - therefore the confusion / questionI understand the confusion. The only way to tell if your fog lights would be on is if the green indicator is on for your lights. I wish you could turn on your fog lights with your parking lights and not have the DRLs. Oh well, it's not worth cutting wires and rewiring things to me. I hope this thread helped with your question though.

I have that light. It is green when the Vibe *thinks* it is dark outside. It is also green when I turn on the lights, using my masterful finger and opposable thumb There is NO indicator for the fog lights being on, except looking at the control, and seeing where it is. Once upon a time, we discussed this at length, but I can't seem to find the magic search terms to find that particular thread.
