You can hear him hit the rev limiter early on, which interrupts the normal fuel injector pulses, but not the supplemental fuel for the nitrous, so you end up with a lean mixture, which equals backfires (hence the blown up intake) and detonation (which is why the pistons ended up thickening the contents of his crankcase.)Looked like it would have been a pretty quick run...
