Does anyone have experience using the 125/80d16 tire for the spare instead of the 135/70r16? Will it fit in the spare storage spot, and does it drive as well?

I'm thinking of getting this one https://a.co/d/05kC8Vre to save cash. the 135 continental is around 140 with shipping. my old OEM spare tire ripped when I used it on the way to the nearest repair shop after a flat.

Using the tire size calculator the tire comparison is

the key differences are the 125/80d16 is a half inch larger diameter and about half inch thinner than the 135/70r16. Can't remember how tight a fit the factory spare is in the hole, but seems likely there's enough clearance to accept something on a half inch bigger (1/4" on each side)

I don't know how mixing a bias ply(D) tire with a radial (R) but if it were me and it was one of the front tires that went flat, I'd try to put the D tire on the rear, and move a good rear tire to replace the front flat. Might not be an issue, and depends on how far you need to travel on the spare
