2003 Pontiac vibe Overheating

Hi. I have a 2003 Pontiac vibe that I bought new and I love it.
It's been running great but recently it started to overheat so I shut it down. It doesn't blow any heat and the top right radiator hose gets hot but when squeezed it doesn't seem to have pressure in it. A few months ago it had a new radiator installed and it isn't leaking fluid anywhere. I let it sit and cool and topped up everything and now it's not overheating but still no heat. Could it possibly be the thermostat? I don't think that it's the core because it's not fogging the windows and I don't smell anything and I just pray that it isn't that because it looks like a nightmare to change. But anyways does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the issue.
Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Update... I've ran it numerous times and now it's not overheating and now it has heat and everything seems to be working good. Could it possibly have been a stuck thermostat? Hopefully... thank you again for your time...

There was a loss of coolant somewhere. If there's no visible leak, it got burned in the combustion process. Read up on pressure testing and bleed-down testing. You may be able to borrow a pressure test kit from an auto parts store loaner program.

The heater core is the highest part of the coolant system and is the most difficult to fill after losing or draining coolant. Also look up "burping" the system when refilling. Special tools, like a radiator cap funnel, are available to make that go easier.

Have you been checking the crankcase oil regularly? Look for signs of coolant there, too, a mayonnaise-type layer.
