PT Cruiser

Since the GM dealership cannot seem to give me a reasonable deal, I checked out the Chrysler one for PT's. These are suprisingly similiar to the Vibe. I liked them and they said they can pay my car off, Just if I want to make the deal come in tomorrow and see what kind I want. I really like the PT's and a brand new with all the options I want is the same price to the dollar as the Vibe, and Im getting a better deal. We will see what happens.

I don't want to get the PT and then wish I would have got a Vibe if I could get one. Why does the PT get such crappy MPG?

test drove the PT and wasn't impressed. look kinda cool, but honestly, they are girlie or old lady-ish.

I *really* don't want anything but a Vibe, I mean I can settle (as I always do, never get what I want..) but GM dealers just wont pay my car off which is what I need done, I've tried to sell and it just wont. This is my only option. I even found the Vibe I want too, It's a block down my house at the dealers, 04 Fusion, It's sat there for soo long with no lookers or nothing, still, They won't pay my car off or even let me use my dang GM Supplier discount certificate.

I would like to try and trade it off now, It's just got over 51000 now, and by November Im sure it will be close to 60, and that's dropping the value right there. I'll just keep trying though. I just wish my would sell!

If you gotta get a PT, go with the turbo...or else don't go at all. Or you could get the Neon SRT-4, be ugly but DAMN fast for the same price!

I guess It *might* help if I got off my high horse, Cause I always settle for less than what I want and regret it. There's a couple I like but I want one and only one car and I want the Vibe in Fusion! I bet I could land a good deal on a Abyss Mono 04 in the next town over, but Im not too fond of black and washing it that much. I really only want the Fusion, but next in line would be Abyss or Frosty in Mono.

Go across town and get them to accept the discount coupon. It will end on September 30th. Get them to take your car in on trade for a descent offer or tell them they will loose the sale. A few hundred to a dealer is nothing and if that is what it takes to make a sale then talk to the manager. The salesperson should get the ok to make the sale. Then have the dealer make a dealer trade for the Fusion. If you really want that particular one then go get it. Too bad I do not live close to you. I would take you in there and you would have already been driving it.

Also, I traded a Chrysler product (Dodge Intrepid) for my Vibe. I have serious doubts I would ever purchase another Chrysler product - at 90K miles, the thing was falling apart and having all sorts of engine problems. Good things come to those who wait.

My friend has a Neon and she HATES it. Every time she goes to drive it, she has to add a mixture of 50/50 water and antifreeze. She has a leak. They can't fix it. The entire car vibrates any time she stops...if she's not moving, it shakes more violently than a vibrator. The engine sounds more unhealthy than my brothers 82 Sunbird did when he get rid of it.I agree -- never owned a Chrysler product, never will.

I'll climb up on my high horse and say that you better off than I was when I was your age. (This is not intended to be some "I had to walk 10 miles through the snow every monring" rant) The car that I had was an old Rolls Canardly, very rusted, many shorcut repairs. had over 200K on it when I got it as a hand me down, I put another 150K on it. but, it got me where I needed to go. Used what money I did have to get through school to get a job that paid enough that I could afford a nice new Vibe. Then again, maybe I was better off because I didn't have the compelling desire for a new car, was just happy to have had something that was functional most of the time.

i was looking at pt's before i got my vibe, they are comfortable, but i hear the drive isn't all that great. i've heard great things about the protige, it's similar to the vibe. get what you want, but don't get a high car payment you can't deal with for 5 years, i wish i would have thought of that when i got my vibe, but, oh well, you live, you learn.

Logic appliesIf you accept that needs are also wants, you can not assume that wants are also needs. If my vibe runs out of gas, the engine will stop running. However, if the engine stops running, it does not necessarily mean that it ran out of gas. "if A then B" does not mean "B, therefore A" There is no "what if".A further argument could be made that needs are not necessarily wants, but that would take this so far off topic that it might never get back.I think the PT Cruisers are ok, and have had some pretty good luck with Chrysler products, but the Vibe's better gas mileage was a big reason why I didn't buy a PT.

The Mazda is way too "wagony" looking!Joatmom: The gas mileage made my decision also, I didn't see the MPG til I did some research after I got home.I guess I will try and get another Vibe, It's a Vibe and I have wanted one since they came out, Im so ready to get one now. The only colors I like really are (all monos) Abyss, Frosty, and Fusion,..The Satellite and Neptune are growing on me. The one in the next town is Abyss and I don't know about the work put into a black vehicle (i.e. washing/waxing and heat factor) yadda yadda yadda...

If you care enough about a car, you won't care about the work it takes to maintain it...You get out of owning a car what you put into it.If MPG is a big factor, consider a Prius, Insight, or other hybrid vehicle. They have amazing MPG ratings...That mazda wagon is surprisingly pleasing to look at...has some audi/VW qualities to it. Yes, looks like a wagon, but not ugly wagon such as focus, pleasing wagon look to it...

I don't like the Prius or Insights, the Vibe gets 29 MPG in town, opposed to the PT's 20 - I'm going with the Vibe whether I wait or not.I will try for the black probably this Saturday, If that doesn't work then I will try some in surounding, bigger towns.

My car is a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, 2-door, Dark Olive Green Metallic, Chrome wheels covers, Power everything, CD, Moonroof, White Reverse GLow Gauges on Instrument Panel, and I detail it every 2 weeks. It's so clean and smells nice, It's got 42,000 miles and I owe $7500, That's what Im asking, Is that too high?

Well guess what, Just my luck, How suprising! Drove to the nearby town that actually deals with people cause they must "like" to sell their cars,...Yeah all 4 of the Vibes there 2 weeks ago are ALL gone. Not one left on the lot. There is a city 2 hours away Im not sure if I could find anything but finding time and pursuading parents is another story.

Bro your current car isn't that old. the Vibe isn't going to die out in a few months. They will only be getting better as the years come. We all here at GenVibe understand your great desire to have a Vibe and be as cool as we are, however, it just may not be the right time for you to be like one of us. There is nothing wrong with waiting for what you want. You even said you didn't want to settle for something. So just think of it as a way to save for the newest and best Vibe you can get.But that's just my 2 cents.
