I know the engine and tranny are toyota but what if you cracked a windshield could you get it replaced right away?Any other part of the vibe shared with other vehicles like doors and body parts?I know GM does share parts like sunbird and cavalier and even my old saturn shared parts with other GMs.

Most mechanical and electrical parts are Toyota. Trim and body parts are GM. OEM glass suppliers also supply the aftermarket although it may take some time to fill the parts pipeline since there is still a backlog of orders for new Matrices and Vibes.

One of the reasons I bought a Vibe is because it shares parts with the Toyota Corolla. The body of the Matrix is very similar, but it is made in Canada only. My Vibe was made in Fremont (about 1 hour away from me) and the windows were made in Lathrop (about 15 minutes away).I would expect that Corolla brakes, axles, transmission, and engine parts are all identical for the Base Vibe. The GT Vibe I think shares parts with the Celica?

Aside from the AWD, the base Vibe and Vibe GT suspensions are both mostly Corolla. The base Vibe engine (1ZZ) and transmissions (4-speed auto and 5-speed manual) are also from the Corolla. Only the GT's engine (2ZZ) and 6-speed manual are from the Celica GT-S.
