So I have a 2003 Vibe that has power doors and windows and cruise control and I would like to poach them for my 2006 model that is all manual. I honestly don't care about the windows that much. It's mostly that I miss my key fob and can't live life without cruise control. I know there are aftermarket kits you can buy, but I was wondering if it would be worth it to try to poach these bells and whistles off my 2003 Vibe. Vibe. I'm hoping to sell the 2003 after I poach which means I have to put it back together afterwards. Is this going to be a ridiculously annoying project? Are the parts going to be compatible? I've seen some posts on here about installing cruise control but everything I'm finding is about aftermarket kits.

Any advice would be much appreciated, especially if you're better at using the search function on here and can refer me to the correct threads and posts that have already been written.

The cruise part is the easiest. Your 2003 has a cable throttle, so the cruise control setup is much more involved than the 2005+ cars with the drive-by-wire throttle body. Leave the 2003 alone and just go buy a switch for your 2006. It should everything there to make cruise work (unless it's a manual transmission where it looks like you'd need to add a clutch switch.) I can't speak for the rest of the project. Is your 2003 in driveable condition or are you parting it out?

I assume you're not lucky enough to have the 03 and 06 Vibes be the same color, then you could switch whole doors and lock cylinders instead of having to do what i assume will be a lot interior door work. I went the other way, replaced a Vibe with manual locks and windows for one with power, and have never had to deal with window regulators. All I can offer is that the keyless remote receiver is in the back right corner, behind the trim around the fixed side glass somewhere, and my no power 03 still had the wire for it. Don't know what wiring exists for the doors/windows on a non-power Vibe though.

It is certainly a do-able project, although I can't estimate how much trouble it would be. If you've got the time, go for it and post updates on the progress
