I bought a hood prop for my Vibe a few months ago, and I didn't put it in because was waiting for the clip and gasket.

Now I have the clip and gasket, but I seemed to have misplaced the hood prop. lol

I grabbed it from a Matrix at a junk yard, so no big loss if I can't find it.

Will the hood prop from a Yaris fit in the Vibe?

Local junk yard doesn't have any more, but I can get one from Temu for $27.

I looked up hood prop rod for 07 Matrix at https://parts.olathetoyota.com/v-2007-t ... components It says the toyota part number is 53440-12030, and that it fits 03-08 Corolla and Matrix. The same website lists the part number for an 07 Yaris prop rod as 53440-52160. Don't know how they're different, but Toyota thinks they are different

For what its worth, that web site lists the price for a 07 Matrix prop rod as $15.60 Google shows other places cheaper, but shipping costs are unknown. amazon has it for about $23 However, those prices are all US $ and right now $1 CAN is about $0.73 US Might be worth hitting up the parts department at your local Toyota dealership to see what they'll charge and how long to get it.

But I'd probably go for an exact fit instead of trying to make A Yaris one work. Does the local junkyard have any 03-08 Corollas?
