Radio light

My radio where the stations pop up is black, is this a fuse or wiring issue or does it have its own back light? My dimmer is all the way up and still nothing, when it was working the numbers were only partially viewable, so this is just the nail in the coffin, any thoughts?

they are bulbs. I had replaced mine right before I sold my Matrix. There's a whole thread with pics on how to repair this issue.
