My Vibe was in the showroom for 3 months. Walked in, said I want that one, drove out an hour later. They have a really nice monotoneNeptune and a monotone Salsa on the lot now.

Same story here... well, actually I wanted to order one but they gave me a trade on my Saturn I couldn't refuse if I agreed to take this one (it was a dealer trade gone bad), so I bought it. I've never looked back. I feel kind of like I cheated with so many still waiting though...

I went to the dealership, test drove it, and bought it in the same day. I'm already surprised by the results of this poll, i expected to see alot more people still waiting for they're vibes.

I ordered my Vibe on April 15th. GM Canada informed me yesterday that it is FINALLY built. I've a wait of two to three weeks for the keys. My lease (Transport) has been extended from the end of June. The dealer agreed to take the Transport back at the end of August and supply a loaner for the week or two of September until it arrives. It has been a long, long, long wait.

quote:I'm already surprised by the results of this poll, i expected to see alot more people still waiting for they're vibes.I think that's because the people who are waiting are much more "vocal" about it. Of course, I'd be "vocal" too if I was waiting for this car. ;-)By the way, they had my car in the showroom. Didn't even have a sticker on it yet. Only took a couple days to strike the deal. The Pontiac dealer made out since I had already fallen in love with the car and went with a lower trade-in offer as a result.

Bought mine on the dealer lot JUL 11 2002. Test drove it on a Saturday... made up my mind after looking at other dealerships, called back, and had it the day I called (after financing was approved (took 1 hr)).I think mine was sitting there for a little while (maybe a month) and took me a couple good washings and waxings to get it looking brand spanking new. Shame on the dealers for not at least washing them at appropriate intervals.

Hey there everyone! I haven't posted in forever since I've been away to Alaska but I'm back now and I just picked up my Vibe!!! I first ordered my car at the end of April and it came in at the beginning of July...but it came in without the power package so I had to reorder. My car just came in yesterday...I love it!!!! I got a shadow GT w/power and monotone. I've been driving around all weekend trying to get the hang of the stick...hehe. But the original wait and the screw-up were way to long.

Ordered mine on August 19th, and have been told the wait will be "up to" 3 months. Could have gotten one right away but they don't have the frosty that I want, and most of the ones on the lots are AWD. So it is possible to get one right away in Vancouver, if you aren't picky (like me).

I had no problem finding my Vibe, I live in South Carolina, USA and they had 3 vibe's on the lot. I was happy with the options that my shadow vibe has so I picked it up the next day after they cleaned it up and filled it up with gas. They have 2 frosty vibes on the lot currently, one gt and one base.

My signature line says it all currently, but in case something changes I ordered April 24, it was built sometime the week of the Aug 19, Shipped Aug 23. GM Canada seems to say 4.5 weeks for delivery which will give me a 22 week wait. Is this a record? I think someone waited 24 weeks but I don't have time to search around.

My wife and I went to pick up her new 2002 Grand Prix GT and I saw the Vibe GT and decided the take her out for a spin. Not wanting to part with the thrill I had just experienced on the test drive, I just had to have one. So within a week both my wife and I got new rides.

I have had the Vibe Gt since mid June. I started research on a wagon for under $30,000 CDN in early may. I decided on a Vibe GT or Matrix xrs and put deposits on both to make sure I was going to get one. Both the Toyota and Pontiac dealers had none on the lots, so it took two to three weeks for the cars to come in. I had no choice in options as the dealers ordered them. I picked the Vibe Gt, Toyota gave me my $500 back and the rest is history.

Ordered my Vibe on 9/9, was told it was built 9/21 and shipped on 10/7. Still waiting. Last call to the dealer, they told me should be here "any day". I know it's coming coast to coast, (I'm in Massachusetts) but as of today it's 24 days in shipping. Does this seem excessive to anyone?Dealer claims they can sit in a railyard for days waiting for the right train heading to my area.

i actually drove my friends matrix when he got it new, and liked it, but i wasnt as fond of the exterior. i went home figured out if i could afford a new car, and once i decided i could, it was off to reserch what i wanted and needed. once i found out about the vibe, and its partnership with toyota, i was hooked. saw the one i got at the dealership, but couldnt decide if i wanted a salsa two tone base w/ power, moon&tunes and a stick or the abyss monotone with same options auto.once i found out the salsa was unavailable, it made it pretty easy, plus, since my girl cant drive a stick and seeing her drive it right away was worth it...so i bought it two days later...still trying to figure out a name for it...

Banker, I live in Boston, and have a similar story. My Vibe was ordered Sept. 12, build date of Sept. 30, shipped Oct. 7. It is still not here and the dealer keeps saying "anyday now." At least the dealer allowed me to fill out all the paperwork so I could still get the 0% interest for 60 months (plus I got a last minute $250 cash incentive for those that are buying through the GM employee program). Maybe our Vibes are in the same East Coast shipment group sitting somewhere in the mddle of the country...

Did you get 10% off or what? I know you got 0% finance and you mentioned the '250.00 cash incentive ' for GM employees. Is that above and beyond your GM employee discount? You see, I'm a Canadian GM employee and we don't even get a discount of any kind on the VIBE at all. I would like to know exactly what disocount you get, so I can present it to the powers here and ask them why we shouldn't at least get some kind of break. If you don't want to post it here, you can email me at

Sorry this is a little off topic of this thread, but I wanted to respond to Vibe Rater's question, as I think it is important for the powers at be in Canada to get with the program and offer the same discounts to all North American GM employees. My father works for Delphi at the Kokomo, Indianaplant, so I qualify for the GM Employee discount. Iordered my Vibe as I wanted a base model with ABS. Ipaid $17,024 USD total for my Vibe, so that includedthe ABS, rear cargo nets, Moons and Tunes, Power, andMonotone Packages. I think the dealer invoice at thetime I ordered my Vibe was $14,542 (withoutdestination charge), but under the GMS program, I paid$14,787.70. These prices have increased as of Oct. 4,but I am not sure what the new numbers are. Here isthe breakdown of the total price I paid, and forcomparison the MSRP (in USD): GMS Price MSRP Base 14,787.70 16,340.00Monotone 279.50 325.00M/Tunes 430.00 500.00PWR pack 516.00 600.00cargo nets 21.50 25.00ABS 430.00 500.00Dest. ch. 560.00 560.00TOTAL 17,024.70 18,850.00 So, my total price reflects the 10% GM savings. The0% for 60 months with no payment for 90 days is thecurrent incentive package in the US that ended today(Oct. 31). GM frequently announces last minute dealsfor GM employees before an incentive period ends, sothat is why I had the additional $250. You can referto this website to find the list of current GMincentives for US employees:
http://www.gmfamilysavings.com/family/s ... tives.html These incentives all end Oct. 31, so new ones willbe posted within a couple of days, so check back at thatsite. I hope this helps.

Exactly the type of info I need to raise the temperature in some offices around here. Thanks so much! I called GM Canada and pleaded again and they promised to pass on my complaints. The root cause here is that the Canadian production allotment at the NUMMI plant is outrageously deficient. Waiting 6 months to receive an ordered VIBE is unacceptable and someone is doing a very poor job at planning production. I don't need to tell my Canadian countrymen this. Canada is being chronically starved of product (VIBES) and as a consequence we are being denied value pricing. NUMMI, if you're watching WAKE UP!

My story is easy.I went to the dealer on friday and i told them i want a Satellite base vibe with 5 Speed and the Power Package. They had one in Abyss,so the guy said he will make calls to find one.And i guess i was lucky, because he found one two days later. So they just made a trade with the another dealer, and i had my Baby in 5 days.It was one of the best day in my life. And i'm still very happy with my car.

Well, how frustrating is this. My Vibe is at the dealer....it's just the dealer is 600 miles away. To make a long story short, my current lease isn't up until Dec. and my brother works for a big dealer in PA and said they would order me whatever I wanted at dealer cost. I ordered mid-Sep. The dealer just emailed me and told me it arrived on Oct 30th. I won't be going to PA until thanksgiving to get it...so I have my Vibe, but I don't. It sucks knowing it's sitting there waiting for me to come get it.

The new incentives for The Rest Of Us (non-GM employees) are on the Vibe web site
http://www.pontiac.com/pontiacjsp/vibe/ ... ce=lnavThe 0.0% only goes out 36 months, but the rebate is UP TO $2000!! All of a sudden, waiting since late August for my order to be built (allegedly this week) doesn't seem at all bad now that the rebate has ratched up another $500. And the incentives are good to January 2, 2003 if you're still waiting for yours to be built.By the way, I'm not Canadian, but got hung up by the lack of production antilock brakes on the base Vibe for about six weeks. From the other posts, it looks like I'll get mine by the end of this month. Yee Ha!

Believe it or not--I bought mine off the used lot. 7500 miles. BIG price reduction. Was at the dealer to order and just lucked out. This one on the used lot was the exact car I was going to order. Lots of warranty left.....couldn't pass it up.

the family traded it because they already had 3 kids and found out they have another on the way after buying the vibe. $14,200 with 1.9% finance. It's a GM certified vehicle so they gave an extra 3,000 miles on the warranty. For the first time--I don't have buyer's remorse over a car.

I just got mine the Friday befor last. My local dealer found one with all the options I wanted and traded for it. It took one week once I was pre-approved. I love it. I can't stop driving the dag-gone thing. I've had it a little over a week and have over 1300 miles on it. I haven't had this much fun driving since I got rid of my 64 chevy II.

After placing my original order for the Salsa base Vibe with Moons and Tunes back on July 15th/02, my dealer tells me today (Nov. 5/02) that the hold on the order has been removed. (I'm assuming that was because of the dock workers strike) The next stage is for NUMMI to release a build date! Now I'm wondering how much longer for the build date. It has been a painful and slow process to get this vehicle here in Calgary, Canada. I hope the wait is worth it. I'm praying that the vehicle will be ready before Xmas because I will be needing it then.

I got some good news today about my future vibe. I called the GM CANADA service center in Oshawa with my order's number. It is now on the way to my dealer. It's on the train between Fremont, California and Windsor, Ontario. It is due to arrive in Windsor near November 20. It will be in Quebec on November 22 and will arrive at my dealership in the week of November 25. I will probably take delivery at the end of that week (November 29 or 30). I'm very happy! I will keep you informed...

If you don't have a build date by now, then I hate to break it to you, but you probably won't have the car before xmas. To get the car before xmas you'd likely need a build date in the next 3 weeks.

I just picked up my Lava Monotone base Vibe this evening (it also has the Moons and Tunes Package, the Power Package, and ABS)! It was wonderful to finally get the call from the dealer (for those North of the border, sorry, I know you have several months to wait instead of several weeks). I ordered it the second week of Sept., a build date of Sept. 30, and a ship date from the factory on Oct. 7. Due to a shipping SNAFU from the Chicago railyard to New England, I didn't get the car until today. My dealer told me tonight that over 80 GM cars destined for the Greater Boston area are "unaccounted" for, so something weird is going on the GM delivery system to this part of the world. I haven't had an extensive opportunity to check out the car, but no real squeaks or rattles. I was gently chuckling to myself while driving home tonight when I saw the "green halo" from the turn signal--I remembered people commenting upon it some time ago in the Forum. I cannot wait to just go out and play this weekend!
