Thinking about flushing the power steering fluid - no issue but thinking about doing it as it has never been done and the fluid is quite dark now and some dark residue in the reservoir.

According to the service manual the fluid is Dexron III - is this correct? Since this is a Toyota engine I was not sure if this is more likely to be the Toyota ATF. Does anyone know?

The manual for my 04 and 05 both specify Dexron-III

Haven't done a flush, I just suck what I can out of the reservoir with a bulb baster and add fresh to replace it.
