Well, it has been a wonderful ride but time has come to part with my 2004 Abyss Vibe. It's been relegated to "pickup duties" for the past few years and I don't really need two cars anymore.
Proud winner of May 2007 VOTM.

Too bad you didn't list it in December. I might have gone for it. I paid $5500 for an 07 Matrix in January - and I'm at Cy-N-Hou and Jones.
Good luck!

Nice testimony and glad to see that you kept the Vibe for so long. Other than boredom, or just the excitement of getting something newer, these cars will damm near go forever! Someone will get a GOOD deal on this when you pass it on. It should easily see another 150-200k miles. I assume the underside and overall corrosion issue is not a thing to worry about, which is a bonus on any vehicle almost 20 years old. Good luck on the sale

I think I've seen them use road salt in Houston once in the last 25 years - and basically, nobody but an idiot (me) got on the road if they could help it.

Corrosion hasn't been an issue, fortunately. I did have to replace the engine in 2013; that wasn't fun. There is a very small oil leak somewhere (when running) but otherwise the drive and mileage are still very good.
My replacement is a 2017 Mazda3 GT hatchback which I got in 2018. I lost cargo space but got nearly double the horsepower and significant safety features. I still used the Vibe for hauling stuff and my former wife borrowed it for a time last year when her car died.
I am going to miss it. I did enjoy doing the minor mods and hitting a couple of Vibe/Matrix meets here in Texas. There's really nothing like it on the market today.

Sold. Not wrecked, not traded in Just Because, or any of a myriad other reasons.
You'll remember it fondly, because it served you well for over 18 years - and now it's going to do that for someone else. Hopefully you told them about this group.

I didn't see the Craigslist ad in time.
What did it sell for?

3k.
I'll have a somewhat damaged, but still fully running and will pass inspection 07 Vibe up in a few days.

I would have considered flying to Houston to pick it up had I seen this a week ago. Looking for a replacement of a couple Vibes that are beat up.
