2006 Vibe Motor Mounts

Post by JKGibson »

My motor mounts need replaced. The least expensive quote I have received is $700 to have them replaced at a mechanic shop. Is the labor cost worth it? I can order the mounts for $60. Has anyone replaced the motor mounts themselves? I’ve been watching YouTube and think I can do it but worried about the rear mount.

$60 for all four mounts? That sounds fishy and very low quality.

You'd be about $400 for OEM mounts for reference. If we presume your mechanic is using OEM mounts, $300 in labor to replace them isn't that bad.

Two of the four mounts you could change yourself with ease; front and passenger side. The third, the air intake/air filter housing needs to get removed to access it, but is still straightforward The fourth mount, the rear one, is a PITA to get to.
