Straight Pipe Question

Post by ReedWolf »

Hey all i have a 03 Vibe GT that im making into a race car, it currently has a muffler delete and im thinking of doing the cat but wanted to ask a dumb-ish question, if i remove 1 cat no more no less along with the muffler already being gone will it destroy my engine / head from the backpressure? my friend thinks it will then again he doesn't own a car in general but still wanted to ask!

Correct, removing this stuff will not destroy the engine. However, the ECU will have to do more work to keep it running right, and removing the cat will not make the car faster without a tune.
