New member from NB Canada

Post by NBVibe08 »

Hi Vibe guys and gals new member from NB Canada. I recently purchased an 08 for my son and love the car. Wish it was mine lol. It has around 227000kms and have recently done the following: oil change, trans oil change, new tires, inside fan resistor replacement and a good cleanup. Great little car.

Great picture. Congrats. Should get you to/from Dog River (inside Canadian joke) without any difficulties.

Fantastic! Of my three 03-08 models I’ve owned, if its not new, keep an eye on the starter. All three of mine went out. Not a bad replacement job either if you are a DIY’er. Though for one of the three, it went out out of town so a shop did for $400. That hurt. Of course the ‘air blend actuator’ if is original, should be due too. All three of mine went out between 180 and 200ish. Also not a bad job if you know the ‘tips and tricks’ posted on this site.

Welcome to GenVibe! :D Kudos for posting a pic of the car on your first post ;) Is the Vibe pretty rust free so far? A lot of you Canuks up there have Krown applied to your vehicles. Just curious. Looks great so enjoy the ride.

Thanks all for the welcome! There are a few small rust spots but will fix. It was located near where I grew up and up northern part of NB, winters are cold and not lots of salt applied to roads as opposed to the southern part. Gonna look at the “air blend actuator”. I do all my own work on my motorcycles and snowmobiles that I own and this is the first car. All others have had dealers do the work. This Vibe want to show my son a few simple fixes and he is open for it. Great little fun car and all fixes/maintenance are real easy to do for a diy’er!
