2009 vs 2010?

Post by Sthej »

Hello! I've got a 2009 with a dead transmission (thanks everyone who responded to that thread!) Repair shops want ~>3k to fix it. There's a 2010 model that is the also 1.8 L and same color with lower miles sold nearby.

If I bought the 2010, how much of my 2009 would work as parts for it? Electrical? Mechanical? Body?

Thanks
Caretaker

As long as they both are the Corolla engine, EVERYTHING is the same. I'm doubting there was one piece of plastic that is different given GM knew by then that the 2010 would be the last year. No sense in any design change when you know the model is already history.

I have had both the 09 and 10 and both cars were identical, only difference I noticed was the shift lever cover, the 2009 is black and the 2010 is silver.....by the way, both were GT models rocking the 2.4L but as caretaker mentioned above the 1.8l should be the same story.....

Pretty sure the transmissions offered with the 2009 with the 1.8L are different than those offered in the 2.4L.
