Installing Rear Glass Hatch Release Button

Post by DanJo »

I have a 2006 Base non-power, I ordered the button on eBay and was hoping this would be a simple plug and play scenario. I got the switch today and removed the panel above the switch bank. So far the most helpful thread I have found on here has been this one: viewtopic.php?t=44525

So here’s my issue: when I removed the panel there is an open wiring harness, but it doesn’t match up with the switch that I have. Does anyone know (1.) if all Vibes were wired for the rear hatch release? (2.) what is the open harness in the photo from my car for?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, if you did not have the power package, the wiring for it is NOT there.

A friend installed power locks, and had to run all the wiring and whatnot himself, as it is not present. I would presume the same would make sense for the hatch switch.
