Replacement cost of a Good Year RSA

In case anyone is wondering, the lowest I could find to replace one of my Good Years is $102 out the door. Turning the corner today, my right rear tire blew out. Something went into the sidewall and into the rim, damaging the lip of the rim as well. I don't think that will be too bad and it should not have bent the wheel or anything. I'll find that out when I take it in. So for right now, I am riding on the spare.

Well, thanks for the info, but sorry to hear you had the problem.Good to hear not much was damaged, and you weren't hurt. Glad it wasn't at 80mph on I-75.

Yeah, no kidding! Just one of those things that happen I guess. Unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The cheapest I ever found that tire is around $150. I would jump on your deal.

I have an update on a price. I found another tire store that will do everything for $91.60. Brand new, mounted and balanced.

The damage is not bad enough to require a new wheel, thank goodness. If the wheel is bent or something, I will look into that but I don't think it is. Thanks for the heads up though.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune--Same thing happened to me last Feb.I found a brand new takeoff wheel for $110.00 on e bay.In fact there are a few on there right now. Hey you have kept you Vibe so perfect so far so why stop now.I'm sure that deep inside that scared rim just bugs the heck out of you,as it did me so when I found a take off real cheap --I jumped at it and didn't look back. I've thought about that, but the damage is very minimal. You have to get right on top of it to see it. I am still considering getting another wheel though. It really depends on if the wheel is bent or has damage that would affect the seal of the tire. I'll find that out later today.
