Hello,
My name is Jim. I am a car-a-holic.
I recently purchased my first Vibe, a well equipped Frosty 2003 base model with 183,000 miles in excellent condition. (pics to follow when I figure it out)
This forum has already provided much valuable information, particularly about replacing the blend door actuator and the HVAC and shift indicator lamps. The forum needs a thumbs up smilie!
I am a car guy for life and enjoy working on my own vehicles.
I purchased a Toyota pickup brand new in 1987 (sold to a friends father long ago), and current drive a 2002 Tundra Limited 4x4 in Thunder Gray Metallic that is also in excellent condition. What a wonderful truck.
I owned a 1987 Bonneville SE and a 1992 Bonneville SSEi, and swore I would never buy another Pontiac after those two.
I purchased the Vibe because it is basically a Toyota product at a Pontiac price.
My garage also holds the rest of my current fleet:
1969 Camaro Z/28 survivor, owned since 1978,
1999 Camaro SS in Hugger Orange with White interior owned since 1999
1971 Honda CL175 in Candy Topaz Metallic
1994 Honda Pacific Coast in Black
2001 Yamaha FZ1 in Blue purchased new
and a 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster inherited when my father passed away in 2018.
My wifes ride is a 2012 Impala LTZ in white.
There are many other vehicles in my past that I have not mentioned.
I am also an avvid snowmobiler.
I maintain and care for all of my vehicles and enjoy every minute of it.
Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself, and hope to have many pleasant conversations with the members here.

I wish I had a lift, but am confined to a floor jack / jack stands due to a low ceiling height. (darn zoning laws)

They have 'portable' flat jacks out there, that operate as scissor lifts. I've eyeballed them a few times myself, rather than doing the 'jack it, stand it' route.

I have researched them also. I just can't justify the cost at this time.
I have been watching Craigslist for a used one that is reasonably priced in my area. They are never close by.

Excellent intro and you fulfilled ALL the "non required requirements" to being a member here: Posted pics, posted location, and gave a good history of your automotive background Plus bonus pics which give us a better idea how serious of an auto enthusiast you really are! I can truly understand the lift thing as when I was younger, I did EVERYTHING using floor jacks on my earlier rides (specifically GM "f" bodies) and it was no fun. I now have the luxury of a full 6000 ft2 shop/warehouse just 5 miles away from where I live. Lift, paint booth, welders, milling machines, etc. It's not in the greatest neighborhood and is extremely dirty. Oh well the trade-off is worth it! I share it with a couple of retired Mopar fanatic brothers.

Yes, the lift thing is getting important. (looks like we are about the same age)
I used to be able to lay on my back all day, not so much any more.
I am actually planning to build a new garage within the next year, as I have recently moved to a new home close to my old one.
I own both and still have / use the old one daily.
The new garage will definitey have a higher ceiling height AND a lift.
That is a sweet looking GT you have. I love the color!
