Equipping our Vibe to be a tow behind and need access to the back of the tail light lenses to install additional bulb socket. The internet says there are 3 nuts securing it to the body, I can only see/feel 2 with the side interior trim in place. Is there a 3rd hidden one that I need to pull the interior trim out to access?

In this image, you can see the three studs sticking off of the back of the tail light assembly where the nuts would attach. They are all 10mm nuts.
Or a closer up one (rather blurry) from an eBay ad.
A few other resources.

Perfect, thanks. Any tips on getting at the bottom one without taking the interior side panels out? I'm good at working blind but my hand doesn't fit in that space very well. lol

I've just used a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket and reached it no problem every time. I also learned after taking them off the first time, to then just take the socket and hand tighten, so there's no need to use the ratchet in the future lol.

I'll have to put my giant hands in there again and see if i can touch, find the bottom one. Actually the more I think about it I may need to take one panel off anyway to run harness forward. I'll do that first and then maybe I can do the other one blind.

Assuming you're installing tow wiring harness? If so, you can get one that you don't need to run power to the front of the vehicle. But if you do have one that needs power, I pulled the grommet out near the spare tire, cut a slice in it, and then followed the brake lines all the way to the front.
