Does it have a typical a/c clutch? Upon taking mine apart it appears that the clutch and pulley cannot spin independently from each other and and the clutch threads on to the compressor shaft therefore the compressor spins all the time. Is this correct. Can anyone help with this

Give us tome time to investigate and answer I own TWO 2009 vibe GT's (the bigger 2.4l engine) and have not had to work on the A/C system yet. I can tell you all about refrigeration pressures/temeperaturs BUT not sure on the A/C compressor arrangement. Be patient, you'll get an answer soon

So I have the 2009 vibe 2.4L which I think is more like the camery than Corolla. I do believe that it is a clutchless compressor. Here is a video of a similar repair for a Camry for comparison.

Mine is also 2.4l any information would be greatly appreciated

I cannot confirm on the 09+ if the AC Compressor/Clutch are separate. I believe they are, though.
