yes, i also read in the paper today that some illegal immigrants were suing 7 Virginia universities for not allowing them in. stated it was prejudice. ok, so now we give them identification as a citizen and allow them to attend our universities, not pay any taxes, and take our jobs? why would anyone want to be a citizen? hell, i want to be an illegal immigrant!

If he is an illegal immigrant, it means he shold not be there. If it should not be there, it means it does not need to get a driving licence.Stupid law.

I think law makers are confusing "rights" with "privledges". Driving is a privledge, not a right. If you are in this country without going through the proper channels, then you should not be given the privledge of driving legally. The ONLY reason why Davis signed that law is to appeal to the Hispanic community go he won't get the boot.

Illegals shouldn't even be allowed oxygen, let alone a drivers license. Send em' all to Canada. We love illegal immigrants here. Lotsa free stuff.

I work for a wholesale nursery. Most of our employees are illegal. They pay minimum taxes because they can never collect social secuity etc.Some of them have drivers license but very few have ins. Over all most put more $ into the system than they can get back. Without them you would have no work force.They take jobs that the Whites,Blacks,and most Asians won't do. The USA depends on them to do the manual work that no one else will do. With out them our economy would collapse. There is no easy answer for the $ problems that they may cause. I have worked with these people for 30 yrs. and most of them(from Mexico) are really good honest people. 2nd generation kids tend to have attitudes like us citizens-not always good. No easy answer- can't send them back because we need them!

I agree, there are no easy answers. I think that instead of giving a legal ID that has a side effect of legitimizing their illegal presence here, the effort should go into getting them processed to get some sort of legal status, and that way there would not need to be laws passed to make it easier for people to violate the law and be here illegally.
