Driver window 'clunk' sound when rolling down

05, base model, power windows
When i roll down the driver window, at about 50% height, it gives a single clunk sound, as if the window is slipping somewhere. Nothing visually happens to the window. I havent pulled the door panel off to inspect, kinda on the plans for this weekend. This happens about 75% of the time. Any thoughts on what to look for or whats the likely culprit?

Mine does that too. The door strap interferes with the window because the sheet metal where the door strap is bolted to the door is ever so slightly bent. I still have to bend mine back.

Here is how I found out about it: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=35798

Open the door wide and lower the window. Do you still hear a clunk?

I'll give that a try, but it doesn't do it 100% of the time with the door closed.

I concur with the door check strap. You can grind a corner of it off to keep it from hitting. I do advise being careful when rolling the window down and hitting it. You can shatter the glass supposedly.
