Could be 16 depending on how early of an '03 it is!
Ours will be legally old enough to drive itself in October.

My current 03 Vibe is #4312 according to the VIN, and the sticker on the driver's door jamb says it was made 02/02

In 5 more years, '03 will qualify for 'Classic Vehicle' plates in Connecticut!

Just looked it up, it's 25 years in Indiana. I was hoping it was 20 because I would definitely have to do that.
I also learned in this state that if you register your car as a "collector" you can use a plate from the year of the car. I still happen to have the 2003 vintage plate from my old Vibe. Can this thing hang on another decade?

Here in MD, you can get "historic" plates for a car that is 20 model years old, however it comes with the following limit:
"A vehicle registered as historic cannot be used for general daily transportation, or primarily for the transportation of passengers or property on highways. It can only be used in exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, occasional transportation and similar uses. "
I do not have a lifestyle where I can have a "historic" show car, only cars that I can use whenever, so I'm at no risk for getting historic plates for my Vibe in 2023. If I were to have such a car, seems like there are a lot of better historic cars to have than a Vibe

Speaking of historic, I wonder what percentage of Vibes are still on the road. Subaru and Ford have been marketing 9x% percent of vehicles still on the road after 10 years. Aside from deer committing suicide by Vibe, I wonder about active Vibe registration.

I would assume that they would be as high as the corolla. I remember toyota making a similar claim with the corolla as well.
