oh what a night

You guys missed out on one heck of a night here in Salisbury MD. Well as you can probably guess, this weekend was the first weekend for the college kids to return to town. Both my wife and I are rather close to the age of 30 and past our college party days, when at 12:15 am we were awakened by a loud noise outside. I got up got dressed and opened the door to see a crowd of like 70 people outside beating up a chevy blazer. I cautiously approached and noted a girl sitting on the curb who's face was rather swollen claiming that one of the individuals had struck her intentionally at a party they attended. I went to walk back to my house when two of the guys steped out of the car with baseball bats, I ran into my house grabbing a shotgun from my gun case and went back outside. I quickly stated that they were on private property and that it was in their interest to leave. The girl ran to me crying and I managed to get a partial plate number as they left. 10 minutes later the police arrived at my door demanding to know why I felt the need to have a gun outside and wanting to take me to jail. Luckily my wife told them she was in the shower. 1 Of the 4 police officers had been on the force 24 years and asked " shotgun?" I said " Yes" He said "loaded?" I said "No" "good call", he said and then they asked for the plate and the description of the perps. What a way to end a holiday weekend!

She's pressing charges for assault. I unfortunately only got a partial plate number of the vechile as they left. But judgeing by the damage that was done too it from the kicking and bottles they threw at it it shouldn't be hard to find.

I told the cop that I did not go outside with a shotgun, so she said that she was in the shower and didn't see anything. The other oficere who is a veteran of 24 years thought it was funny, but his rookie partner wanted to arrest me. I was simply gaurding my property and they both had weapons and I felt threathened.

actually I never brandished the gun or waved it recklessly, I just went into the crowd yelled you're on private property, it's 1am and I've had enough! Break it up now! and then walked back into the house and put the gun away.

quote:I told the cop that I did not go outside with a shotgun, pretty gutsy to post in a public forum about how you lied to law enforcement about a firearms incident. Not saying you did anything wrong that night, but I probably would have left that part out of the post.I know cops are great, but sometimes, especially when driving, I start to think of them as being out to get me. It's only paranoia if everyone is not actually out to get you.Glad everyone's ok. I live near a small college, now I'm a townie. Pesky kids.

I agree, my main deer rifle is a 30-06 and with the 4x12 scope I feel comfortable shooting at 400 yards. But for pure intimidation this really does the trick...

well the one thats on there now is a full steel choke, it puts 20 pellets in a turkey head at 35 yards. The gun is a Mossberg 835 ulti-mag.

I have quite a few hunting weapons handed down from my grand father to my father to me. Plus this year I started Sika deer hunting on assateague island. Sika deer are actually miniture elk and they never way more then like 60 pounds. We stalk them by canoe in the marshes of the island. It's rather exciting to say the least. Plus just last year I started into the black powder experience so we'll see.

the way the whistle in rut is creepy, the thing that sucks the most is the island is 33 miles long but 1/8 of it is un huntable do to tourism and guess what? You drive in through the state park side and see the little *******s standing there. Hell, they even come up to the car for food. But once you get to the national park side it's a different world.

nah, never had to chase anything I've shot with a black poder rifle or regular rifle. Maryland has a 2 week crossbow season this year that I'm really excited about. Plus having a brother in-law with 600 huntable acres helps.

Holy cow, I'm not a party kinda guy so when I get into college, if any one decides to terrorize my car I will file a law suit to get money for a supercharger adnd exhaust and then I would personally kill with my pinky Theres nothing I love more than my cars so death will be delt....everyday in school I'm park my car in back and am paranoid about leaving it there open for immature students to key it simply because it's a new car... -=Paul=-

my vibe or my silverado where never in jeporady. Bottom line was when the two idividuals steped out of the blazer with a tire iron and a baseball bat I made a decsion to bring a gun to a stick fight and I won.

I went to the state Hmong fair in Green Bay this weekend with my family. It was the first time I've seen S.W.A.T. members patrol the grounds with automatic H&K MP5's! Da wife say's there's been large gang fights and shootings there in the past. Yeah, she mentioned this AFTER we get there.Since we're showing our gun's, here's mine. I call it 'Death Touch"

It's for deer hunting. No rifles allowed in my area, so I use saboted slugs. It will make a 4" grouping at 100 yards.
