Cold Engine Idle > 2000 rpm

Now that it's been colder out, we have noticed our 2004 Vibe when it's first started and the engine is cold, it will idle at 2200 rpm. Once the engine warms up, it drops. No CEL or rough idling, just high idle rpm.

Is this the normal rpm range for a cold vibe engine?

Thanks

In freezing temps, above 2,000 rpm is normal.

Make sure you read the gauge at the bottom edge of the needle.

Good. I wasn't sure, seemed slightly excessive from what I've had on other cars.
Just it seems soooo loud inside the car!
