Clunking start/no power

Hi guys, I am completely lost here.
I just replaced the clutch on my 2003 fwd vibe today, I also replaced the half axles and a bunch of other suspension parts, etc.
It drove like a dream, for around 25 miles. Then as it came to a stop this horrible clunking/stuttering started. Now it starts, and when I put it in first and attempt to drive there is no power at the wheels, just what feels like slipping gears. A loud powerful clunk, It's like something cathches but slips really fast. It only happens when in gear, and also happened when I attempted to start in second gear.
It almost sounds like the transmission is just spinning around the half axles, starting to grab but slipping. I don't know how that could have happened or why.
Does anyone have any ideas on what it is or ways to fix it? My wife loves the car so I don't mind doing the work.
