Alloy to Steel question

09 GT I want to change the rims to a 16 inch and I have all the specs for the steel rim 114.3 x 5 54.1 center bore 16 x 6.5 is there a better source for these anywhere? Perhaps a used source (junkyard) I don't like the ride of the 18 inch Alloy rims and I have already sandblasted and powder coated my wife's 07 rims and they turned out really nice. I don't mind doing the same but finding these rims is like finding hen's teeth. They want 100 bucks a piece for take offs I just don't know what other cars I can look for that will fit my car.
May I assume that the specs for a non-GT 2.4 will fit a GT Hub and is the Center Bore (54.1) is required to center the wheel or will a larger bore work ok?

Any steelies from a Camry will fit. I have a set for my winter tires and they work great. Several of us here have done this. I lucked out and got brand new take-offs for $50 a piece some six years ago. Good luck with the search.
Here's what they look like on the Vibe with a cheap set of wheel covers. Not a bad look for winter driving!

I'm not a Toyota expert but I'd assume 2009 and up should work. That will give you several model years to choose from.

The center Bore is 60.1 mm and the Vibe has a 54.1 mm As far as you know that is a non-issue?
The price of these is good!

Looking at maybe doing the same thing myself. The 18's are beautiful, but the ride is horrible.

Ok... did some digging this morning on Tirerack... and found the following

Specs:
size: 16x6.5
offset: 45mm
backspacing: 5.511"
bolt pattern: 5-114
Recommended tire size: 205/55-16
Would these be the correct rims for replacing my 18's down to 16's? Also will I have any issues with clearance around the rotor/caliper, or any inner-wheel well rubbing if I go to 16's?

You shouldn't have any fitment issues Ian. 16s are the absolute smallest wheels that will fit over the front brakes. It will be a close fit but should be fine all around.

That's good to know Carrie. Was a bit worried about fitting over the rotor and caliper, and rubbing in the wheel well. Now just to run em till the tread gets low on my current tires, then I'll make the move to the 16's, no use wasting good tread

. Then my vibe's ride will be smooth as butter.

Just a heads up, I did get some rubbing when I had the wheel weights initially mounted on the inside of the steel wheels. It was just the weights rubbing against the front calipers, but it caused a noticeable noise so it was pretty obvious there was an issue. It was remedied by simply switching to outside mounted weights.
Also, the ride will be improved, but it won't be a huge difference.
