Hey All,

We have an '03 vibe, and my daughter backed into a bush and dented the gate above the license plate holder. Now it will not lock. Anyone have a repair diagram for the lift gate that I can look at so I can fix the lock? I assume I'll have to try and push the dent out.

I attached the only hatch diagram I have, its from a matrix, but applies to an 03Vibe as well. Probably not very useful

Probably easiest to start by removing the large hard plastic trim piece that covers the inside bottom half of the hatch. Start by pulling the little bit of trim at the top of it around where the hatch glass latches. On mine it just pulls off, sort of up and toward the front of the car. Then just pry off the large trim piece, its only held on by plastic push pin fasteners. On mine, seems easiest to just pull off starting at the bottom.

Once you have that trim off, there are large openings in the hatch sheet metal that give access to all the working bits
