need steel or alloy wheels

I'm looking for a set of 16" wheels in clean serviceable condition for a set of winter tires. I am near Allentown pa and willing to travel as much as a couple hundred miles for a clean set at a fair price. I would even consider 3 wheels and complete the set off of e-bay if necessary. Reply thru this thread and we can make contact if you have them for sale. Thanks in advance,
Hutch

Consider finding compatible 15" rims on craigslist and saving about 25% every time you buy new tires, plus much smoother ride as a bonus! Tirerack, etc. also sell tire/wheel packages, ready to use.

I've heard of dropping down to a 15 for winter tires. What model would be compatible? I would of course need the same bolt pattern and the offset would also need to match. Any suggestions?

You can get steelies pretty cheap from auto shop suppliers like key-stone. The place my shop uses can get just about any steel wheel for $25, new!

I use 15s for winter as well. Our cars share the bolt pattern with many VWs. All MKIV cars: Beetle, Golf, etc.

A good source for factory 15" Toyota steelies would be from a Corolla (03-08 for sure).

I have a set that you can have for free. You will be responsible for actual shipping cost. They're a little rusty, but NOT bent and have NOT been abused. Otherwise, they're going to the dump within the next few weeks.
