I was thinking of plasti dipping the roof rack rails as a cheaper alternative to powder coating them. How fade resistant is plasti dip ? I would love to do it, along with some new wheels

I've never plasti-dipped anything, so don't know. How scrape resistant is the stuff? If you use the roof rack and slide something on the plastidip, will the stuff peel off?
