Hi all,
I bought a silver 2009 Vibe Base 2.4L with 85k miles a couple of weeks ago to replace a '00 Maxima that I finally decided to retire. The dealer seemed to have trouble getting rid of it because of the stick shift (which I've never driven before) and lack of power windows and locks, so I think I got a good deal. The car this is replacing has 190,000 miles, and I'm hoping I can keep the Vibe running well past 200k
I realize the community isn't as active as it used to be, but I really appreciate all the information everyone has gathered here over the years. I look forward to chatting more with you folks and will try to post some pictures this weekend!

Welcome! Sounds like you got a nice Vibe there, especially one with a manual! My former 2010 GT was an auto, and the replacement for it was for sure going to be a manual one. For now I have the 03 GT, but I want another 09-10 GT with a manual one day. Love having full control over the transmission!
Good luck with it and hope you enjoy driving it for a long time!

Welcome to GenVibe. The 2.4L & a 5-speed manual .... awesome combination. That's what I'm driving

So you THINK you got a good deal ... well run it by us here and we'll confirm so. What did you pay for this Vibe? I agree that the Vibe you got is rare and pretty much a bare bones Vibe. Most of them with the bigger 2.4L engines had tons of extra options packaged into the car. Enjoy your "new to you" Vibe

Including two new tires and a new battery, after taxes it'll have run me about $7500. I'm happy with the price but a confirmation that I wasn't ripped off would be a bonus

That price seems reasonable! You'll easily get 200k miles and then some if you own it long enough. Seeing how you never driven a stick-shift before, how did you test drive this and how did you get it home? I'd assume you took someone with you to assist in this area? Manuals are a blast to drive and generally get better MPG's as compared to automatics. If you do a ton of city driving, stop & go, then manuals can be a pain in the (removed) BUT still I prefer them over an automatic any day

My girlfriend knows how to drive stick, and she was kind enough to do the test drive, drive it home, and spend a Sunday afternoon in the Vibe as I lurched around a parking lot with it.
