Hi All
I have an 07 Vibe and there seems to be a clunking sound coming from the car when I turn the steering wheel.I have made an audio recording of the sound:

So far I have replaced the control arm but this does not seem to solve the problem.
The clunk appears when I am turning the steering wheel and also then I get into and out of the car so I am thinking that something is wrong with the some part of the suspension.
I am going to take a look at the outer and inner tie rods later today can you anyone suggest any other areas I may look at?

Thanks in advance
Meidou

Sway bar links.

Strut and strut mount.

With the car on jack stands pry up on the sway bar and observe the sway bar links for play.

Hold the wheel at the 3 and 9 o'clock position and wiggle it. This could reveal play in the tie rod ends.

To test for bad strut mounts, you can sit still and turn the wheel lock to lock, looking out the window at the front wheels. If they are grabby and jerky and don't move at the speed you're turning the wheels, it's strut mounts.

If it's the mounts and you can't perform the labor yourself, you should probably just replace everything because the labor would be the same price as they have to come all the way apart for replacing the mounts.
