Adding a rear aux to factory radio

Hello, just wondering if anyone has tried adding a rear or external aux to the factory radio. I know the matrixs have remotely located aux inputs. I didn't know if this would be a plug and play sort of deal or what. Thanks for any input.

I recently added one to my '03 GT. I have the navigation radio with a Pioneer CD changer under the front passenger seat. I never listen to CDs so I just spliced the aux jack into the audio output wires coming from the CD changer at the connector on the back of the radio. To use the aux jack I just select the CD input on the radio. The connector from CD with the audio outputs is disconnected at the changer. There needs to be at least on CD in the changer so the radio "thinks" it is playing. I probably could have done it a different way and retained the ability to play CDs but this was very simple to do. It only took me about 30 minutes.

Regards

A good universal solution is to install a hard-wired FM modulator and then route the aux cord through the dash or glovebox.

I did the same on my 03, but got a special aux jack that lets the CD changer play normally, and interrupts the CD input with the aux input when you plug in a cord. Works pretty well, but the volume is a good bit lower on the aux side.

I have one of these and it works pretty well for the price. I bought this before I put the aux jack in my Vibe's radio. Now it is in my wife's Odyssey and 2 of my kids fight over who's phone they will plug it in to so they can be the DJ.
