I understand that its a no-no for HIDs in halogens, but its really tempting because of the light output. How about these new LED kits ??? Its starting to get complicated now. Im ready to just pickup a new set of headlight assemblies, bulbs & call it a night

The LEDs cost a lot if you want them to work well, and I don't think they're up to the output of HIDs yet. Just retrofit some good projectors and bulbs, or leave it alone.

a work around is to put HIDs in your fog lights (although it may not serve fog purposes much)
that will keep the light from blinding drivers

it also helps to re-point the lights down and away and use a warmer colored bulb or you'll get flashed by everyone you pass and attract the po-po's attention

on my prior vehicle, I was getting so much light I went to just one HID, and put a low powered led bulb in the drivers side, basically just to make it look like the headlight was not out

the LEDs that work cost A LOT more

We have had DDM Tuning 35w 5000k HID bulbs in the low beam headlights and fog lights of both our Vibes for a couple years now. When I installed them, the first thing I did was adjust the headlights. I left the halogen bulb in the passenger headlight, put the HID bulb in the driver's headlight, adjusted the driver's headlight beam down significantly to match the halogen bulb beam, than I installed the HID bulb in the passenger headlight and adjust the beam to match the driver headlight beam. FWIW, neither my mom nor I have ever been flashed.

*Just thought I'd share that this is my 6000th post!*

so far I haven't been flashed in the vibe either
with the warmer color we both run, and maybe this housing doesn't have as much glare as others.

unless the fog lights don't do much, I would think HIDs in just those would be good enough
