Hello GenVibe community, as a new member I figure I should introduce myself, so my name is Stephen or Sideswipe29 if you go by my username.

I'm 17 years old and live in Michigan and own a 2003 Pontiac Vibe.

Being a busy teenager I needed a car to get around and last year my parents and I looked into some used cars.

I personally love the Chevrolet Camaro and it is my dream car and I hope to own one eventually but even with my love for the Camaro I knew that I wouldn't own one for my first car. Even though I looked into some, I just knew that the older 2000s models weren't for me.

I have come to really like hatchbacks and that really helped narrow my search for my first car and when I finally came across some Pontiac Vibes I knew it was the car I wanted to be my first.

After looking around I finally found my car. The beautiful Neptune Blue with the gray paneling. It had roughly 68,000 miles on it and the dealership was asking for $9,000.

My parents managed to strike a deal for around $8,000, if my memory serves me correctly.

So that's my story of how I've gotten my Vibe.

I named her Chromia since another passion of mine is Transformers (Hence the username) and my Vibe is similar to that character in the original cartoon.

So that's me in a nutshell.

I love my car and really hope she lasts a long time. If you have any questions for me or anything just ask and thanks for welcoming me to the community!

Welcome! That is a really nice looking Neptune you got there! Sounds like your parents got you a good low mileage example. As you know, the Vibe is a really great car for a lot of people. We bought my son his car when he was 17 and it is still running great 7 years later with 75K miles. I drove it for a year while he was in college until my daughter took it over for her senior year. It was great for her to learn in, and then I had to buy one for myself a few months later since I missed driving it!

Take good care of it by changing the oil, other fluids, and keep up on the other maintenance and your Vibe should last you a good long time. 300K miles is not uncommon, so you can hope to have it a while if you want.

Good luck!

That's one of the primary reasons why I was interested in the Vibe because it's really reliable and will last a long time - so long as you take care of it. And I personally am a bit of a car buff and I'm also a very neat person so it goes without saying that I'll be taking excellent care of my Vibe :D :D I want her to last a long long time.

Welcome to GenVibe Stephen! That's definitely a very nice looking two tone Neptune you've got there ;)! 68,000 miles!?? That's only about 8,000 less miles than our 2009 Vibe GTs! You will definitely have this Vibe for a long time to come!
