My floormats in front look like crap and I vaccuum them once a week religiously. Anyone else think the quality is terrible on the front mats. (Stock ones not the winter ones)

Mine were wearing through too...I switched to rubber.Added to my list of mistakes that I will address upon delivery of my next car:* Several coats of wax, and LOTS of clear coat...* Scotch guard all seats, carpeting, and mats

This is exactly the reason I bought the rubber mats. I didn't want to see wear spots in my carpeted ones at all. They wear out especially quick when you drive a stick shift.

i figured that would happen, thats why i bought an extra set from someone off here for like $35. ill swap them out in a year or so.

i ended up buying the thin clear rubber mats from walmart. i have them right on top of the carpeted mats where i place my feet to change gears and such. so far works pretty well. i'll have to get teh all weather mats wehn it gets closer to winter.

I'm a "tenderfoot". I hate driving without shoes. I dislike even walking barefoot.

Better get back on topic before either your hubby reads this or a moderator needs to step in............My mats are holding up ok, but I don't clean them as much as other folks do. I do like the pins that hold the driver mat in place, and the carpet under the mat still looks great. I guess that's what the mats are for, to take the abuse and spare the carpet. There's usually some on ebay, but more that say Matrix than Vibe.

I liked the Vibe logo, hence the reason I opted for the GM branded rubber mats...they come with the Vibe logo on 'em...you can check them out up close in Ohio if you're interested...Had the factory mats just been generic gray, I also would've gone for third-party branded mats, at a lower price...I'll sell someone my worn out floor mats for $50! Hehehe...

I actually lucked out here. I picked up my Vibe on a Friday. Then, while stopping to get milk on the way home on Monday, I noticed that there was no passenger side mat when I put the milk down in the passenger side footwell. Called the dealer and they said they would get me a new one. Turns out, they gave me a full set **free**. So, now I have an extra driver's side mat when the current one shows too much wear. Now, what do I do with two extra rear mats?

I only have 7k miles on my Vibe. It's an automatic and I use cruise control fairly frequently, so my feet are pretty much planted. Regardless, I have noticed my driver's side mat is getting worn looking. And I haven't even been through a winter with it yet! I think they are pretty low quality. I had my Saturn for 7 years prior to the Vibe and had some pretty messy winters with it and my mats looked as good as my Vibe mats look after 7k miles.I'm going to have to get the rubber mats for the winter or I might as well just plan on tossing the carpet mats in the spring.

My mats are holding up quite nicely... Well, then again, I do have a set of cheap, carpeted floor mats on top of the stock ones. Is that pathetic, or what?

I upgraded to rubber ones. I have rubber ones in my Xterra and they still look new after 2 years of minor off-roading and wet weather trips to the snow. In both my Xterra and my Vibe (both had new fabric mats) the mats had noticeable wear marks after only a few weeks of use. The rubber ones are a huge upgrade IMHO.

i got like 20K miles on it.... im startin to see some wear under the gas pedal and it seems like the pontiac emblem is falling off from the passenger side mat

i got those chrome things on the driver and passenger doors replaced under warrenty... it wont hurt to try

Hey, my floormats look amazing but they are starting to wear a tiny bit where the heal of my foot pivots between the brake and gas. But barely and I've had it for over a year so... -=Paul=-

mine are wearing under the clutch. also from getting the momo pedals. the screws catch i think.

I wish I had been as smart as you...my stock ones are starting to wear away especially on the passenger side. It will not stay in place...they should have put those hooks on that side too.

I had a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant that had the hooks on both sides.

Has anyone got a set of aftermarket rubber mats that actually fit the drivers side well? I bought a set from Canadian Tire, a set of Deluxe Black Rubber mats, however they are too narrow and because of the dead pedal, do not fit all that well. Are the GM rubber mats any good, or would it be better to get something else? I'm considering a set of actual PantSaver mats that I found at Walmart, they look wide enough to fit properly, but once again the dead peadel may cause some problems.Any comments?

The official GM ones fit the drivers well perfectly!

Thank you.There are some other good products here as well, ie the clear vent visors. I actually ended up picking up a set of Pant Saver mats from Wal Mart last night. They are SUV size and fit great in the Passenger Side footwell as it is big enough to cover the whole space aswell as most of the sides of the footwell. I'm hoping this will cut down on the after winter salt ring you usually get that forms at the edge of the floor mats.The drivers side fit isn't perfect becasue of the deadpedel so I'll probably take that back and order one of these custom fit ones.Thanks again.

I've not vacummed, swept, nor shaken out my floor mats in 10 months. No wear and tear that I can see. I'll let you know what's under the layer of sand and gravel when I excavate. Probably in late 2005.
