Proud owner of 2003 Vibe - Question

Hello,

I just bought a 2003 Pontiac Vibe - base model FWD - 1.8 liter. It has 184,000 miles on it. We bought it from my brother in Colorado and just road tripped it back to Minnesota. It starts up fine and runs great. However, after a few hours of freeway driving 75 mph, we stopped to get gas and it took 2 to 3 times to get it started. It acted like it wasn't getting fuel. After I got it started I would keep my foot on the gas for a minute and I was able to move forward without it dying. This happened a couple of times when fueling. I even tried keeping the car running while gassing up and it still died while in park.

Since getting back it starts just fine - but have not taken it on longer trips. Anyone have any ideas why it is hard starting after highway use? Thanks.

There was a recall on the ECM for Pontiac Vibe. I would ask a GM dealer to look up if this vibe was part of the recall and if it had been serviced. Starting a hot engine was one of the problems that was addressed with the recall.
Otherwise I would clean the throttle body, replace the spark plugs, air filter and so on.

If not resolved, have you cleaned the MAF sensor?
