New member! 195k on 2006 Vibe. Question

:?: I am a new member of the forum. Thanks
for answering my question! I love my 2006 Vibe.
I am the original owner. I've babied it, with oil
changes, tires, tranny fluid, antifreeze, plugs...
all at the right intervals. At 195k I want to drive
it 2 more years...I do about 24k miles mostly
highway a year. Just replaced serp belt, tires,
battery, tranny and antifreeze fluids.
I have original struts/shocks, alternator,
thermostat, and most other parts original
Question: does anybody have a Vibe with appx
250k miles? Have you replaced struts/shocks
and alternator? Any other suggestions what
additional maintenance I should be doing to
extend the car to 250k?
Many thanks again! Power vibe.

Welcome to GenVibe! Glad you found us! It's great to hear that you've had your Vibe for quite some time and are so happy with it. I know they are plenty of owners on here who have 200,000+, even 300,000+ miles on their Vibes with no major issues. Unfortunately, I can't really help out with any of your maintenance questions since our Vibes are 2009s, but I'm sure someone will chime in eventually with more info for you. Post a picture or two of your Vibe when you get a chance. We love pictures around here :D!

Welcome, powervibe!
195K on original struts is amazing! I don't think I would replace my struts if they worked that long already and the day of selling it comes near. New struts may help in getting is sold, but I seriously doubt that you would get half of the expense back. Financially it would make more sense to keep that money for the replacement vehicle.
Keep us posted.

Welcome to GenVibe! It's quite a feat to have 195k miles on the stock struts. The ride quality got too squishy for my taste around 130k miles, and replaced them. They are a wear item, so if they are blown, or are bouncy, replace them.

The Alternator does not have a replacement cycle, it does not need to be replaced unless it's gone bad. I too have replaced the battery, but no issues with the Alt so far. For reference my 06 Vibe has 185k miles :)
