Blackout 2003

What lifetime experience. I think it will be the first and last time that we will ever see so many stars in the sky over Toronto/Brampton. If it wasn't for the Moon being so bright, then we would have seen more stars....but overall, except for not having any water it wasn't too bad.

Yes, but did you see Mars? Mars and Earth are at points in their orbits where they are very close. Closer than they have been in over 50 thousand years. They will never be this close again in our lifetime. The night of August 27-28 will be the actual time of the closest passing but the couple of weeks before and after will also be great to see. Look for a bright "star" with a pink/red hue that is located in the eastern sky just to the upper right of the moon. It comes out around 10p EST. It can be easily seen with an unaided eye.

Nice picture! BTW, ragingfish-Is there a reason why your "killer" graphic doesn't work anymore? It won't work even if I use "show picture" function when right clicking!
