I have a 2005 Vibe GT with 215 50 17 tires, I have winter tires/wheels and summer, I'm most interested in a smoother/quieter ride, I would like to increase the sidewall perhaps to 215 55 17, do you think there would be a problem fitting? Not looking for performance just a smoother quieter ride, does anyone have a suggestion on tires? so far sounds like the Pirelli P7

I went from stock 205/55R16 on both base Vibes to 205/60R16 with no problems at all, and a much nicer ride. You're looking at the same 3% or so difference and I doubt you'll have any issues. You're increasing the overall diameter by less than 1".
