No problem. However, the search function in the upper right has been here all along.

not to be an (removed) or anything, but does that mean I should search on every topic before I make a post?

That makes no sense, there are new people joining here all the time, I would never have dreamed of searching for a hat thread, but I was interested to see this posting.T

True, but the person posting the info about it could search first and then "bump" the original thread insted of starting a second one.

i don't recall seeing any directions for the forums on posting or starting new threads. perhaps admin could make a directional "how to" before each new thread is started or when new members sign up? then there would not be so much confusion or animosity between new members and existing members.

I do it because it keeps all the information in one place and easier for people to find. Spiltting up the information in 2 or more threads just means you might not get the whole story. It was just a suggestion, not a written in stone rule.

I agree. I try and search a topic first to see if someone else has already answered my question. sometimes things get missed, tho. would it be a bad idea to go have "suggested" forum posting directions to make it easier for members to search and find info? it doesn't mean they will follow, but i think getting them in the right direction will help reduce some of these multiple threads.

does it realy matter? half the time topics go way off line (somewhat like this one) and it is just easier to start another one. Plus the most recent topics or the current topics are always on the top of the page. Just my 2 cents
